WHO WE ARE

We are a statewide, multi-layered organization of people directly impacted by criminalization and mass incarceration. Everyone that has been directly impacted by felony convictions, to include families, friends, and communities. All building power together.

WHAT WE WANT

We want to experience full citizenship.

• We want to be an integral partner in the address of safety issues from a public health perspective through effective restorative and community based alternatives to incarceration. 

• We want to participate in the creation of just laws and policies, and the evaluation/correction of inequitable laws and policies.  All to work in the favor of all Ohioans.

• We want to live in safe, just and healthy communities.

• We strive towards integral partnership in originating and crafting the best Ohio we can imagine regardless of race or class.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to develop the leadership capacity of people with the wisdom of lived experiences in the criminal justice system; to build and wield power in grassroots driven BFO chapters throughout Ohio.

WIN CAMPAIGNS

Craft strategic campaigns and take direct action to win on the issues that impact us and our communities.

DEVELOP LEADERS

Grassroots organizing training, political education, and developing the leadership capacity of people with lived experience in the criminal justice system.
